Third Grade Curriculum
Bible
Biblical Study & Prayer:
We will be using World Bible School online bible study. We will begin studying scripture; emphasizing prayer and the importance of a relationship with God. We will study scripture based upon the following methods:
- The P’s Study Method: People (direct statement, character of the people), Purpose (direct statement, key words and repeated phrases, count the number of times a word or phrase is repeated), Problems (direct statement, telephone effect-one-sided conversation), Principles, and Promises
- The SOAP Method: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer
- The Question Method: Who, Where, When, What, Why, and How?
We will learn how to navigate the Bible; locating the testaments and books of the Bible. We will utilize digital methods of biblical research using Logos and BibleGateway.com. We started Concord Cunningham: The Scripture Sleuth 1 by Mat Halverson. We are having so much fun solving mysteries while learning to navigate The Bible!

We will discuss God as the ultimate creator. We will be implementing visual art skills as it pertains to our history studies. We will be using Artistic Pursuits Book 1 and Book 2 for our hands on art lessons. Basic drawing skills will be covered in the Draw-Write-Now: A Drawing and Handwriting Course for Kids program that we are using in handwriting.

We will be studying music as it pertains to our history studies. We will be reading the Getting to Know the World’s Greatest Composers by Mike Venezia series (14 in series). I need to purchase the books throughout the year, as needed. We will be listening to musical compositions from the composers using iTunes.
